Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance

Description

KTT Mobilization Initiatives provide one-time financial support of up to $5,000 for a product that translates and transfers research that benefits Ontario’s agri-food sector or rural communities. Proposed initiatives must be completed within a year of the start date.

KTT Mobilization Initiatives must fall within an established Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) research priority theme. In 2019, OMAFRA undertook a new approach to research priority setting. There are now 11 research priorities that are aligned with the Ministry's three core businesses: Protection and Assurance, Stewardship, and Economic Development. Applicants can find descriptions of the research priorities in the 2020-21 Alliance Research Priorities document.

Eligible expenses

KTT Mobilization Initiatives may be used for non-personnel expenses. Non-personnel expenses include but are not limited to, supplies and materials, contract services and computing costs.

Funds cannot be used to support conference travel or personnel. Applicants must submit a detailed budget with their application, which will be reviewed for value for money and likely return on investment.

Eligibility

University of Guelph faculty and college professors are eligible to receive a KTT Mobilization Initiative grant. University of Guelph faculty includes assistant professors, associate professors and professors.

Adjunct faculty eligible to hold research funding at the U of G may also apply. The adjunct appointment must be in place for the duration of the proposed project.
