Details

How long do I have to enter a response (plea) for an offence that is set fine eligible?  Within seven (7) business days of receiving the Notice of Offence  To submit your plea, email judicial@uoguelph.ca [1].
How much notice do I get before the hearing? 14 days You will receive a Notice of Hearing to your UofG email at least 14 days prior to the hearing date.
When will I know who the committee will be? Prior to the hearing This will give you the opportunity to raise concerns regarding a potential conflict of interest.
I plan to present relevant materials at the hearing 7 days prior to the hearing You must submit documentation you plan to present to Student Judicial Services 7 days prior.
I wish to submit a motion/action for consideration 5 days prior to the hearing A letter requesting the specific action must be submitted to Student Judicial Services. Actions may also be considered at your hearing.
I plan to bring a witness and/or support person At least 2 days prior the hearing You must notify Student Judicial Services if witness and/or support persons are attending.
When will my case be decided on? Typically within 28 days of delivery of a Judicial Complaint Once Student Judicial Sercices receives a Judicial Complaint the case will normally be heard within 28 days.
When will I know the decision? Students are normally told the outcome verbally at the end of the hearing. Students are also sent a copy of the written decision within 7 business days after the hearing. Student Judicial Services will send the Notice of Decision to your UofG email account.
How long do I have to appeal a decision? 21 days after notified of written decision. An appeal, including your appeal materials, must be submitted to Student Judicial Services.
How long are records kept? 7 years if found responsible, and 1 year if found Not Responsible. Records are disposed of by Student Judicial Services. See the Privacy Statement for more details.
