The recent book From Black Horses to White Steeds: Building Community Resilience [1] celebrates and critiques the dynamics of innovation, governance, and culture in place. This webinar will explore three of the case studies from the book that focuses on the strengths of local initiatives, the impacts of collective power, and re-envisioning of local assets. Join this webinar to learn more about how communities are building community resilience.

The webinar is hosted by the Rural Policy Learning Commons [2].  The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development is a member of the Rural Policy Learning Commons. Register here [3] to join the webinar.

About Us

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD) brings together major academic fields concerned with creating strong communities, in Canada and around the world. The four highly respected programs in SEDRD share many common goals but approach them in different and complementary ways. This model reflects the imperatives in building authentic communities where planners, landscape architects, communicators, and citizens all play important interdependent roles in community strength.
