Dr. Gibson Participates in the Revival of Farm Radio

Submitted by dfoolen on October 19th, 2018 11:58 AM

The Farm Radio program was revived in Blyth, Ontario during the 2018 Rural Talks 2 Rural Conference! Farm Radio Forum was a weekly CBC Radio program that aired from 1941-1965. The radio program highlighted agricultural developments, techniques, and provided education to farmers across Canada.

Organizers of the Rural Talks 2 Rural Conference revived the Farm Radio program with two new episodes during the conference on October 17. The first episode focused on women in rural development and the second on resilient rural investment strategies. Dr. Gibson participated in the second episode along with Andre Vashit (Pillar), Chelsie Hunt (Fair Share Investment), Jim Lynn (financial advisor), and John Marshall (Huron County Economic Development board member).  The session was moderated by Keith Roulston. Dr. Gibson shared findings from the rural philanthropy research initiative that is currently underway across Canada. You can listen to the both episodes of Farm Radio through the links below:

  • Episode #2: Resilient Rural Investment Strategies [2]

The Rural Talks 2 Rural Conference was hosted in Blyth, Ontario on October 17-19, 2018.  Further details on the conference can be found on the Canadian Centre for Rural Creativity [3] website.
