Submitted by dfoolen on March 5th, 2020 4:13 PM

The annual Ontario Stone, Sand and Gravel Association Student Design Competition [1] invites Ontario university and college students to apply their design skills to create a rehabilitation design proposal for an existing Ontario pit or quarry or pit. Winners are awarded monetary prizes and winning entries are displayed at OSSGA's annual conference.

The OSSGA Student Design Competition recognizes the most innovative and impressive designs for the competition.  This year, students were challenged to create site plans for CBM Aggregates’ Ayr Pit in the Township of North Dumfries.  The 2019 Student Design Competition winners were announced at the OSSGA's 2020 Conference & AGM in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The Bachelor of Landscape Architecture students took home the top four place prizes including:

MEMORYSCAPE – First Place Team: James Lamb, Evan Wrigley and Jingyi Yang

A BUG’S LIFE – Second Place Team:  Justin Luth, Daisy Reid, Amanda Passero

SOARING IN AYR – Third Place Team:  Katrine Eccles, Dana Lim, Shyla Kimmell
