Patrick’s (he/him) hometown is Toronto, Ontario where they completed a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Toronto in City Studies and is now completing a Master’s degree at the University of Guelph in Rural Planning and Development. 

Previously, Patrick has extensive work experience in the urban landscape including community engagement, corporate sustainability, environmental assessment, and transportation planning. Patrick pursued higher education after a few years of work and chose the University of Guelph for it’s accredited planning program that uniquely specializes in rural planning to compliment previous urban experiences. As a first year RPD student, Patrick has completed research on the effect of environmental determinism on transportation planning; the impacts of winery and brewery industries on rural planning policy; and cannabis grow operation policies in Ontario. 

Patrick’s final term project involved consulting for the Township of Centre Wellington and crafting a municipal research report on the policies, processes and best practises for cannabis growth development. The project aims to understand how the federal legalization of cannabis in Canada has materialized in municipalities by examining case studies of municipalities (including Norfolk County, Municipality of Essex and the Township of Scugog) to produce best practises for the Township of Centre Wellington’s planning policies.
