The SEDRD Graduate Student Society presents a community development workshop with Omelnisaa Giddam and Karen Houle on Friday, March 26 at noon.

Omelnisaa and Karen will be joining us to talk about "Food from Home = Food for Home", an urban gardening initiative, whose overarching goal is to integrate residents of Guelph who are of diverse cultural, linguistic, religious, racial, and ethnic backgrounds by inviting them into the urban community organic and permaculture food growing system.

They will be sharing about this project and about their experiences with urban agriculture through the lenses of gender, culture and community in this exciting talk.

We’re excited to see you there!

About Us

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD) brings together major academic fields concerned with creating strong communities, in Canada and around the world. The four highly respected programs in SEDRD share many common goals but approach them in different and complementary ways. This model reflects the imperatives in building authentic communities where planners, landscape architects, communicators, and citizens all play important interdependent roles in community strength.
