The International Comparative Rural Policy (ICRPS) consortium hosts an annual Summer Institute for graduate students, researchers, policy analysts, and rural communities. The 2021 ICRPS Summer Institute focuses on enhancing rural prosperity. The 2021 Summer Institute [1] will convene for two weeks in a remote format and will involve approximately 30-40 graduate students and numerous faculty members from universities around the world. The ICRPS Summer Institute provides a unique opportunity for students to meet and work together on comparative rural policy issues and make invaluable research and networking contacts. The expertise of the faculty involved in ICRPS span across the disciplines of anthropology, business, economics, environmental studies, geography, indigenous studies, planning, policy studies, political science, and sociology.

From June 15 to 25, graduate students and researchers from ICRPS member institutions will get together (virtually) to discuss topics that are relevant for rural policy formulation and analysis, such as immigration/migration, COVID19, agriculture and food, international comparative research methods, and international approaches to rural development. Graduate students from SEDRD are eligible to participate in the upcoming Summer Institute.
