University of Guelph - Landscape Architecture Guest Lecture Series presents:

Professors Anna Thurmayr [1] & Dietmar Straub [2], Department of Landscape Architecture, University of Manitoba and
Founders of Straub Thurmayr Landscape Architects

"Shameless Promotion of Snow and Chlorophyll"

Anna Thurmayr and Dietmar Straub are Professors in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Manitoba. They have had the opportunity of dealing with a diverse range of projects in their careers, in diverse places, sites and countries - both as educators and as landscape architects. They have been tackling gardens and landscapes as experimental grounds for innovation and improvisation, and they are embarking on a search for expression in open space design that lies between the adventurous and the everyday. Both are accomplished researchers and educators in the field, with an extensive publication record. They have been featured in Landscape Architecture Magazine for their creative landscape architectural projects.

Lecture kindly supported by the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects [3].  All welcome to attend

About Us

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD) brings together major academic fields concerned with creating strong communities, in Canada and around the world. The four highly respected programs in SEDRD share many common goals but approach them in different and complementary ways. This model reflects the imperatives in building authentic communities where planners, landscape architects, communicators, and citizens all play important interdependent roles in community strength.
