Landscape Ontario has a new category for students to become members which will allow them to learn additional professional skills going out in search of a career path.  Paul Brydges, President of Landscape Ontario will be here to speak to students on a personal level regarding his career path in landscape architecture and what Landscape Ontario has to offer.

Started in 1973, Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association (LOHTA) is a vibrant association representing over 2000 horticultural professionals. Our members include landscape, maintenance and snow management contractors, landscape designers, lawn care operators, garden centre owners, arborists, nursery growers, interior landscapers, and irrigation and landscape lighting contractors.

LOHTA members have a commitment to maintain confidence and trust in the profession of horticulture and to encourage and support education and research within the horticultural field. LOHTA also helps fulfill its pledge to elevate the green industry and enhance our environment through various public events like Canada Blooms, and participation in local home shows and community events. LOHTA is governed by an elected Provincial Board of Directors, which volunteers its time and effort to oversee the many programs and functions of the association. Landscape Ontario membership is organized by a local Chapter system. The opportunity for professionals to network in order to share ideas and brainstorm potential solutions to problems is one of the founding principles of the association. Landscape Ontario has also formed numerous relationships with other organizations, associations, municipalities and educational institutions who share the common goal to promote the benefits of landscaping and horticulture. Many of these organizations can be found in the links section of our Landscape Ontario website. [1]

About Us

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD) brings together major academic fields concerned with creating strong communities, in Canada and around the world. The four highly respected programs in SEDRD share many common goals but approach them in different and complementary ways. This model reflects the imperatives in building authentic communities where planners, landscape architects, communicators, and citizens all play important interdependent roles in community strength.
