The Master of Science in Rural Planning and Development program at the University of Guelph currently accepts applicants from various backgrounds.

Through the program, graduate students will explore the challenges and opportunities faced by rural communities to find approaches, solutions, and processes of change for rural communities. Students can choose to study in either the Canadian or international stream and can choose an emphasis on Community and Social Development, Land Use Planning, Resource and Environment Planning, or Rural Policy.  The MSc in Rural Planning and Development offers students the opportunity to complete their degree through course-based studies. Other routes for completion include a thesis or major research paper route.

The application deadline for domestic applicants is May 31, 2025, and the deadline for international applicants is January 15, 2025.
