The Rural Romp is an annual rural planning and development event at the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development. It highlights the importance of experiential learning and commuting knowledge across rural places, people, and research.

On April 4th, students, professors and university administrators will be connecting with partners to visit a local farm with the Ontario Farmland Trust, discussing conservation, land use planning, and economic development with agribusiness and on-farm diversified usage, followed by an informative luncheon with partners from the Rural Ontario Institute at the historic Johnston Hall on the campus of the University of Guelph looking into the success of rural leaders.

Please use the RSVP link [1] to register for the event.  For more information. please contact RPD student Lucas Berek [2].

About Us

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD) brings together major academic fields concerned with creating strong communities, in Canada and around the world. The four highly respected programs in SEDRD share many common goals but approach them in different and complementary ways. This model reflects the imperatives in building authentic communities where planners, landscape architects, communicators, and citizens all play important interdependent roles in community strength.
