The Guelph Wellington Digital Equity Coalition (GWDEC) is a network of community leaders working together to improve access to reliable internet, quality devices, and opportunities to develop digital skills. Join us at the Guelph Public Library Main Branch or online on Teams to celebrate GWDEC's five-year journey and learn about the impact of its digital inclusion initiatives. Over the past five years, various SEDRD students have been involved in GWDEC.

Together, we'll explore the digital divide and the evolving challenges facing our community, including cybersecurity threats, artificial intelligence, and the growing shift from in-person to online services. As we look ahead, we'll also discuss what is needed to build the dedicated community capacity required to ensure everyone can fully participate in our increasingly digital world. For more information, contact Prof. Helen Hambly. [1]

About Us

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD) brings together major academic fields concerned with creating strong communities, in Canada and around the world. The four highly respected programs in SEDRD share many common goals but approach them in different and complementary ways. This model reflects the imperatives in building authentic communities where planners, landscape architects, communicators, and citizens all play important interdependent roles in community strength.
