Most of us who work in agricultural and rural development sectors have an interest about role of social media in communication for social change. Ataharul Chowdhury and Helen Hambly in their article published in the peer-reviewed proceedings of the Canadian Communication Association [1] raise critiques on role of social media in collective change processes of agricultural and rural development. They argue that mere 'access to new media' does not suffice to enable social and collective change.

About Us

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD) brings together major academic fields concerned with creating strong communities, in Canada and around the world. The four highly respected programsĀ in SEDRD share many common goals but approach them in different and complementary ways. This model reflects the imperatives in building authentic communities where planners, landscape architects, communicators, and citizens all play important interdependent roles in community strength.
