The Guelph Humane Society’s new home will be as pleasing to humans as it is to the animals it’s sheltering.  The new location, likely to be 212 Speedvale Ave. West will feature an outdoor dog play area, education space and gardens, said executive director Adrienne McBride.  

She and several other humane society board members attended a design unveiling put on by the University of Guelph’s Master of Landscape Architecture program last Wednesday. As part of their first year projects, under the direction of Professor Nathan Perkins, 15 graduate students were tasked with planning the outside of the Guelph Humane Society’s potential Speedvale site. Students worked closely with the humane society to understand what the staff, animals and community need.
