Aislin Livingstone was recently awarded the 2015 Peter Klynstra Memorial Scholarship.  Aislin is a second-year Master of Landscape Architecture student in the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development, University of Guelph.  The award recognizes Aislin’s ties to Atlantic Canada and her passion for the profession, which she has demonstrated in her academic work, employment and volunteer activities.

Aislin describes herself as passionate about design but with a pragmatic worldview. Her interest in environmental planning and design took root at an early age while she was growing up in an isolated tourist and fishing town in Costa Rica. Her worldview has been enriched by life, work and study in diverse places, which will continue with the winter semester on exchange at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.

The Peter Klynstra Memorial Scholarship was established by the Atlantic Provinces Association of Landscape Architects (APALA) in collaboration with the Landscape Architecture Canada Foundation [1] (LACF).  The scholarship recognizes Peter’s long and influential career in landscape architecture and academia, inspiring clients, communities and students in Atlantic Canada.  In tribute to Peter’s influence as a mentor, the award provides an annual grant of $1000 to support an Atlantic Canadian student of landscape architecture enrolled in an accredited university program of study.
