The Stanley Thompson Society was founded in 1998 to help preserve the tradition and character of the golf courses designed by renowned Canadian golf course architect Stanley Thompson.

The Stanley Thompson Foundation created the Thompson Graduate Studies Scholarship awarded to a student in the Master of Landscape Architecture program at the University of Guelph who has a thesis in the area of golf course design. Established to honour Stanley Thompson’s legacy as Canada’s most influential and recognized golf course architect and to encourage and reward the next generation of golf course architects.
