What does it mean to work for the public service? How does one search for a career in the public service? Thirteen graduate students from three SEDRD programs and two faculty members discussed careers in the public sector with Scott Duff at workshop on March 13, 2017.

This unique workshop provided students inside perspectives of the role and purpose of the Ontario public service. The workshop also allowed students to ask questions about hiring processes, including where to look for employment opportunities and how to prepare for interviews.

Scott Duff is the Director of Rural Policy with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Scott has been with the Ontario Public Service since 2002, holding positions in both OMAFRA and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. The workshop was sponsored by the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development.

About Us

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD) brings together major academic fields concerned with creating strong communities, in Canada and around the world. The four highly respected programs in SEDRD share many common goals but approach them in different and complementary ways. This model reflects the imperatives in building authentic communities where planners, landscape architects, communicators, and citizens all play important interdependent roles in community strength.
