The Athletics Advisory Council is advisory to the University President and the Director of Athletics on policy matters dealing with the athletics program, and use of University athletics facilities. Membership includes 11 student members, 4 University staff members and ex-officio members (that are non-voting).

ABC (a-b-c)
Awareness, Balance, Choice Logo Awareness, Balance, Choice  is an alcohol education program run by a committee of staff and students that promotes responsible drinking across campus. WF Mitchell Athletics Centre The W.F. Mitchell Athletics Centre (at the east end of Reynolds Walk) houses fitness facilities in addition to the Department of Athletics’ administrative offices. Redevelopment of the facilities continue with a $60 million renovation and 120,000 square foot expansion and can be followed on-line at http://gryphons.ca/news/2014/5/15/Facilities_0515145051.aspx.

ACMHW
The Advisory Committee on Mental Health and Wellness is co-chaired by the Associate Vice-President (Academic) and Associate Vice-President (Student Affairs). It was struck in 2014 and is charged with playing a leading role in evaluating mental health priorities at Guelph, identifying programs and assessing outcomes, and determining opportunities for collaboration within and outside of the university. Associate Dean (Academic) is a title of a role in each Dean's Office. The names and contact information for ADA incumbents are included in the Deans List.
Add
The Add Period is at the beginning of each semester. During this period of time students can add courses to their schedule.
Add/Drop
The Add Period is at the beginning of each semester. During this period of time students can add courses to their schedule. One-semester courses can be dropped without academic penalty until the 40th class day. Two-semester courses can be dropped until the last day of the Add Period of the second semester.

Aggies is the nickname historically given to students studying agriculture (see SFOAC).

Art Gallery of Guelph, located on the north-east corner of the intersection of College Avenue and Gordon Street.

The Airport Lounge is the UC Level 2 seating area that overlooks the south side of the UC Courtyard.

Academic Learning Community refers to residence communities comprised of first year students in the same academic program. Each cluster is led by an upper year student from the same academic program that is employed by Student Housing Services. ALEX
Alexander Hall Alexander Hall is on Gordon Street on the south side of Reynolds Walk. Formally called the Axelrod Building, it was renamed to honour Chancellor Emeritus Lincoln Alexander.
Alfred
Campus d'Alfred was the University's Eastern Ontario campus that delivered Associate Diploma programs in the French language until 2015.
Alumni House
Alumni House Alumni House is a board and batten, timber-framed structure that is located on Arboretum Road next to the CCLC. It was built in 1879 as a carriage house for the principal of the OAC. It was moved from a central campus location in 1930 and became an office building in 1978. It houses AAD.
Alumni Stadium
Alumni Stadium Alumni Stadium is the name of the football stadium and outdoor running track facility. It is located between Powerhouse Lane and East Ring Road at College Avenue East.
ANCC
OVC Animal Cancer Centre houses the Institute for Comparative Cancer Investigation (ICCI).
ANNEX
A storage facility for infrequently used TUG resources that can be accessed by students. To access students make a request for delivery to an on-campus library location through TRELLIS or at the Library service desk.
ANNU (ann-ew)
Animal Science and Nutrition Building Animal Science and Nutrition is located at the west end of Reynolds Walk on the west side of Gordon Street. It is home to the Departments of Animal and Poultry Science and Human Biology and Nutritional Science.

Academic Program Co-ordinator is a common term given to academic advisor assigned to each Associate Diploma program at the regional campus sites. In University terms these people fulfill the role of Program Counsellor for each program.
APDAC (ap-dack)
The Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities Advisory Committee is composed of student, staff and faculty representatives and is responsible for identifying barriers at the University for people with disabilities and for promoting the removal of these barriers so that services and facilities at the University meet everyone’s needs. The Arboretum Centre is located at the east side of the Arboretum (see below) and is accessible either by walking through the Arboretum from the east end of Arboretum Road (by the Soccer Complex) or by car from College Avenue, just west of Victoria Road.
Arboretum
The Arboretum is a 408-acre conservation-type area filled with 5 miles of jogging and hiking trails, theme gardens, and an interpretive centre. It is located behind East Residence and can be accessed from Arboretum Road off of East Ring Road. Information about the Arboretum can be found on the web at www.uoguelph.ca/arboretum/ .

The Aboriginal Resource Centre was the previous name of the Indigenous Student Centre (ISC).

The Ask Workshop, offered by The Wellness Education Centre, discusses respectful relationships, personal safety, and other effective communication methods in an effort to prevent sexual assault.
ASO
Accredited Student Organizations are clubs, societies, and councils granted status by a PSO (defined by the Student Organization Policy). The PSO is responsible for the actions of the ASOs they grant standing to and must ensure the ASO complies with all University policies and procedures.
