Special Initiatives

The Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance Research and Innovation Program invests in research that aligns with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA) priorities of supporting strong rural communities, keeping our food safe, and developing a prosperous, environmentally sustainable agri-food sector in Ontario.

Call Status

Special Initiatives are part of the Ontario Agri-food Innovation Alliance Research Program and address specific research priorities set by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness. These science and research needs are important for the Ministry and its stakeholders but, for various reasons, do not fit well in the annual Tier 1 call.
