A Guest Access Account provides basic internet connectivity for web browsing (HTTP and HTTPS) and secure shell access (SSH) through both the campus residence network (see Residence Internet Service [6]) and the wireless network (see Wireless Network Connectivity Service [7]). Guests can access the University network by obtaining a Guest Access Account [4].
Guest accounts are only valid for a specified period of time. The maximum duration of a guest account is 30 days.
A Guest Access Account cannot access any University services; it is limited solely to internet access. Also, it can access only the SSID: uog-guest wireless network, not other campus wireless networks.
Note: Faculty, staff, and students from other Canadian educational institutions that participate in Eduroam (see Eduroam service [8]) do not require guest access. They can connect to the University network using credentials from their home institutions.
There is no charge for this service as it is provided by CCS.
If you cannot access the Internet using your guest account, contact the CCS Help Centre [9].
If you need help or have questions about the service, please email us at IThelp@uoguelph.ca or check our CCS Help Services page for more ways to contact us:
There may be scheduled maintenance or a service issue occurring. Please refer to CCS System Status Page for more information:

Registered Guests are guests who obtained Guest Access Account.
By using a Guest Access Account, guests are agreeing to abide by the Guest Access Policy and the University of Guelph Acceptable Use Policy and Guidelines (AUPG) [11]. Any computer or device having a negative impact on the network may be blocked from accessing the network.
Guests to the University are required to follow the self-registration process through the Guest Portal after connecting the guest WiFi with SSID: uog-guest, or physically connecting to the network jacks at ResNet rooms and some public areas (classrooms and meeting rooms).
Each guest requires a sponsor to approve their guest request. A sponsor can be any University faculty or staff with whom the guest has contact.
Guests visiting the University Library should contact the Ask Us Desk located on the first floor of the McLaughlin Library. Guests will require valid photo ID.
Summer residence guests should contact the residence service desk in the Lennox/Addington and East Residences.
Conference guests should contact their conference organizers to find out if there are any group arrangements.
