By entering the Your Season to Grow Contest (“Contest”), you agree to these Official Rules, which form a contract between you and The University of Guelph School of Continuing Studies (“Sponsor”).

Official Rules and Regulations

1. Contest Description

The Contest runs from July 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. ET to July 17, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET (“Contest Period”). All Horticulture and Landscape Design students from the current school year (Fall 2025, Winter 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters) may enter by submitting a photo and testimonial through the official Entry Form. All time references are Eastern Time.

2. Eligibility

The Contest is open to current school year (Fall 2025, Winter 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters) Horticulture and Landscape Design students who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of the University of Guelph School of Continuing Studies, their immediate family members, and persons living in the same household are not eligible. Entrants must provide a valid email address. Illegible or incomplete entries may be disqualified. Sponsor may require proof that the entrant is the authorized holder of the submitted email address.

3. How to Enter

During the Contest Period, entrants must complete the Entry Form and submit:

  • One or more photos (garden, plants, or a photo of yourself)
  • One short testimonial describing how your Horticulture course(s) are helping you grow your skills and knowledge

Entries must be submitted individually. Entries submitted on behalf of another person or through automated services will be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for technical errors, lost submissions, or interruptions that may affect entry.

4. Prize

There is one (1) prize available: A $100 CAD prepaid VISA gift card. All taxes and any additional costs associated with accepting the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prize substitutions may occur at Sponsor’s discretion if necessary. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

5. Winner Selection

One potential winner will be selected by random draw on July 20, 2026 at approximately 9:00 a.m. ET from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

6. Winner Notification

The potential winner will be contacted by email using the information provided on the Entry Form. Sponsor will attempt contact within three (3) business days of the draw. The Sponsor shall have no liability if a winner notification is lost, intercepted or not received by the potential winner for any reason. If the potential winner does not respond within five (5) business days, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. The winner may be required to complete a Declaration and Release Form and correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without assistance of any kind, whether electronic, mechanical, or other. Documents must be returned within the timeframe specified by Sponsor. Sponsor may select up to three (3) alternate winners if necessary.

7. Use of Submitted Content

By entering, you grant Sponsor permission to use your submitted photo(s) and testimonial(s) for promotional and marketing purposes, including social media, web, email, and print materials, without additional compensation.

8. General Conditions

By entering, you agree to abide by these Official Rules and the University of Guelph School of Continuing Studies Terms and Conditions. Entrants release Sponsor from liability for injuries, losses, or damages arising from participation or prize use.

Sponsor is not responsible for technical malfunctions, lost or misdirected entries, or other errors affecting the Contest. Sponsor may disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or acts disruptively. Sponsor may modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest if technical issues or external events compromise its integrity.

All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.

9. Governing Law/Disputes

All disputes, issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of Entrants or Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and federal laws of Canada applicable therein, and such Entrants shall irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the City of Guelph in respect of any claim or matter arising under or in connection with the Contest or these Official Rules, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other state, province or jurisdiction’s laws. Except where prohibited by law, as a condition of participating in the Contest, each Entrant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between Entrant and any Sponsor and any claims or causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, any prize awarded or the determination of any winner, must be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances will Entrant be permitted or entitled to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damages, and Entrant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE PRECEDING LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO ALL ENTRANTS WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

10. Privacy

Personal information collected will be used to administer the Contest and, if consent is provided, to share promotional information from Sponsor. Entrants may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

11. Winner Announcement

After the Contest concludes, winner information will be posted on University of Guelph School of Continuing Studies social media platforms.
