U of G Partners with Guelph-Humber to Launch New Co-op Stream for Business Students
Expansion of the Co-op Program
The University of Guelph is pleased to announce a new partnership with the University of Guelph-Humber (U of GH) that will expand Co-operative Education opportunities for undergraduate students in the Business Administration program.
Beginning in Winter 2026, Guelph-Humber Business students will be eligible to apply for a newly introduced second-year co-op stream. Developed in collaboration with the University of Guelph, this initiative is designed to provide students with a meaningful, experiential learning experience earlier in their academic journey.
An Exciting Step
Elaine Fenner, Director of Experiential Learning at the University of Guelph, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, “This is a tremendous win for everyone involved. We’re thrilled to collaborate with Guelph-Humber to support the launch of their Co-operative Education program. The University of Guelph has been delivering co-op programming for over 40 years, and expanding these opportunities to Guelph-Humber is a natural and exciting next step. Making co-op more accessible to students is a key priority for us, and this partnership marks a significant milestone in that mission.”
With this expansion, the University of Guelph now offers co-op programming across three campuses: Guelph, Ridgetown (launched Fall 2022), and now Guelph-Humber.

Launching in 2026
Applications for the new co-op stream will open in January 2026 to first-year students, with admission based on academic performance.
The University of Guelph is proud to support this initiative and looks forward to the positive impact it will have on students’ academic and professional development.
