The following is meant to help guide current or incoming international co-op students through the process to be eligible to work in Canada, not to advise on such matters.

Co-op Work Permit

As of April 1, 2026, a separate co-op work permit is not needed if you've been admitted to a co-op program at The University of Guelph. Further details are available on the Government of Canada website.

*Co-op work permit holders can keep using their permit for its entire validity.
