Experiential Learning Categories

Curricular and course-based experiential learning are for-credit experiences that are offered through the University of Guelph's academic colleges. There are currently seven types of curricular experiential learning:

Co-curricular experiential learning are not-for-credit experiences that are offered through a variety of academic and non-academic departments at the University of Guelph. There are currently five types of co-curricular experiential learning:

Extra-curricular experiential learning represents a variety of on and off campus opportunities that either do not currently fit within one of the twelve types of experiential learning or are not validated by the University of Guelph.

Experience Profiles

  • Kayla is a co-op student at the University of Guelph who is highly enagaged on campus with organizations like the College of Business and Economics Students Association (CBESA), College of Business and Economics Dean's Office and JDCC Guelph. Kayla is also involved in the local community Special Olympics and Movember Foundation. During her Co-op terms Kayla worked at Keyspire, University of Guelph Department of Athletics and Kellogg's Canada.
