Course Selection continues for Fall 2025 courses until Friday, September 12, 2025 and for Winter 2026 courses until Friday, January 9, 2026. However, all students taking Fall and Winter courses should plan to select their classes as soon as possible after their window opens, otherwise courses or sections may be full.
Students will be unable to enrol in courses (or make changes) using WebAdvisor/Student Planning during the following time periods due to scheduled maintenance:
- 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, July 23
- 8 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, August 19 to 8 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, August 20
- 8 a.m. EST on Tuesday, December 9 to 8 a.m. EST on Wednesday, December 10
A reminder that when making additions or changes to class schedules after the Final Exam schedule is posted, students must also ensure that their Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 Final Exam schedules remain conflict-free.
Please note that the information on this page is tentative, and may change often as updates are received. Monitor this page regularly for information regarding course additions, cancellations, changes, restrictions, waitlists and special registration instructions.
A special thanks to the Registrar's Office who have pulled together a list of campus-wide contacts for students to consult regarding Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 Course Restrictions.
Many 1000-level courses will be restricted to first-year students until 2:00PM on July 23, 2025. A detailed list of these and other Priority Access course restrictions will be posted on the Registrar's Office website.

Declaring a Minor
A minor is an optional secondary area of study that can be related to or different from your chosen major. Setting an Appointment With Your Academic Advisor
To book an appointment, please email bmath.advising@uoguelph.ca to arrange a convenient time. These appointments are 30 minutes in length.
Whether you are meeting in person with a Academic Advisor in the B.Math Academic Counselling Centre, or remotely via Microsoft Teams, there are a few helpful steps that you can take to get the most out of your appointment.
- Have you looked at our B.Sc. Academic Counselling Centre main page?
- Have you looked at your 'My Progress' in WebAdvisor?
- Have you looked at your Schedule of Studies in the Undergraduate Calendar? Was it the correct year? Use the archive to find older versions of calendars
- Did you bring a list of questions you would like to ask?
- Have you brought any notes from previous appointments?
- Have you thought about what courses you might take?
B.Math Academic Advisors are happy to provide advice about degree/major requirements and the associated rules and regulations. However, an elective is just that - an elective! Take what interests you. We will rarely be able to provide much insight into specific courses, especially those that are not Science. If you are considering applying for further education after your degree, some students find it helpful to consider any possible admission requirements when planning which courses to take as electives. For further details, please visit our Approved Electives page.
For urgent situations, students are welcome to come to our office during our regular open office hours (M-F, 9:00 AM to Noon, 1:15 to 4:00 PM. *Note: On Tuesdays we typically open at 10:00 AM.) for assistance. Unfortunately, adding "Urgent" to the subject of an email message is unlikely to achieve a faster response.
Scholarships
The Dean's Honour List is based on your semester average. The recognition is noted for each semester on your official University of Guelph transcript. Criteria can be found in the Undergraduate Calendar.
Students in College of Biological Science majors please note that the college does not award any automatic scholarships to students who achieve the 80.0% minimum required for the Dean's Honour List.
For up-to-date information on Scholarships & Awards that are available to B.Math students, please visit the official Scholarships & Awards section at Student Financial Services. A comprehensive on-line Search Feature is also available for your convenience.
