    Dr. Abood earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Michigan State University in the USA. After completing an internship in large animal medicine and surgery at the University of Minnesota, she attended The Ohio State University for a clinical nutrition residency and PhD. Following her residency, Sarah worked in Research and Development at Ralston Purina for 5 years. Between 1999 and 2016, she served as Assistant Dean of Student Programs at Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. During her time at MSU she taught small animal nutrition, communication skills, veterinary ethics, and veterinary leadership. Research interests include all topics related to nutrition support of hospitalized patients, obesity management, and the intersection of veterinary nutrition and communication. Sit, Stay, Speak Nutrition is the consulting business that Dr. Abood started in 2009, and in 2017 she started Pet Recipe Designers with nutrition colleague, Dr. Rebecca Remillard.
