Up-and-coming Stress Researcher Dr. Nuria Daviu Joins OVC’s Department of Biomedical Sciences
Daviu’s contributions have been recognized through prestigious awards, including the Young Investigator Award from the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation (BBRF) in the United States and the Brain Star Award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Canadian Association for Neuroscience. In 2021, Daviu was invited to give a talk at the Canadian Neuroscience annual meeting and her postdoctoral research led to multiple publications.

Prior to joining U of G, Daviu was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Calgary, where she investigated how certain neurons in the brain affect stress management and coping methods.
Daviu received her Ph.D. from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where she studied animal models of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
