OVC Rises to Top 4 Globally in 2026 QS Subject Rankings
The Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) has once again affirmed its position as a world leader in veterinary education and research, climbing to fourth place globally in the 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject. This marks a significant rise from last year’s sixth‑place position and represents OVC’s highest global ranking since 2015. OVC is also ranked number one in Canada and number three in North America.
OVC also ranked number one in Canada for both academic and employer reputation, and in the top five in Canada for research citations.
The QS Rankings—one of the most influential global post-secondary ranking systems—evaluate universities on academic reputation, employer reputation, research impact and international reach. This year’s results reflect the University of Guelph’s growing global profile and the exceptional work happening across its colleges.
OVC’s ascent into the global top five signals the college’s longstanding strengths in animal health, translational research and One Health leadership. The ranking also serves as a powerful validation of the college’s faculty, staff, students and research partners.
As OVC continues to expand its global impact, the 2026 QS results offer both recognition and momentum and reinforce the College's position as a leader in veterinary science and a destination for top-tier students, researchers, faculty and clinicians.
