AC JumpStart is an innovative seed funding and mentorship program offered by the Accelerator Centre, funded by FedDev Ontario, aimed at helping technology startups establish and grow their business in southern Ontario.


The Accelerator Centre is an award-winning startup accelerator dedicated to building and scaling sustainable, globally competitive companies and giving startups the highest probability of long-term success.

Description

Ontario's COVID-19 Support & Recovery Cohort of AC JumpStart has been launched to help entrepreneurs, researchers and companies bring solutions and products to the public at an accelerated rate.

We need innovation now more than ever. AC JumpStart is here to help bring your pandemic-inspired products and services to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. Clients in this exclusive 10-month cohort of our AC JumpStart program will improve universal circumstances during the COVID-19 pandemic, while paving the way for an enhanced, healthier tomorrow.

Applications from all companies, entrepreneurs, innovators, and researchers who are ready to offer solutions to the COVID-19 outbreak by pivoting or accelerating their business growth to help Ontario recover during—and thrive following—the pandemic.

Applications are encouraged from a wide range of sectors, including but not limited to:

  • Automation 
  • Distance education
  • Food supply
  • Labour force retraining
  • MedTech
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Public Health
  • Remote Work

Eligibility

Companies must be based in southern Ontario (as defined by FedDev Ontario) and be incorporated within Canada (or show proof of plan to incorporate). Additional eligibility requirements of AC JumpStart are listed in the AC JumpStart Application Guidelines.

Funding Availability

  • $30,000 in seed capital - funds must be matched by grant recipients
  • 10 months (up to $10,000 of in-kind services) of one-to-one mentorship from the AC’s team of in-house experts
