Request Service [10]
Get Support [11]
SharePoint Online is a cloud-based service that helps organizations share and collaborate. With SharePoint Online, you can access internal sites, documents, and other information from anywhere—at the office, at home, or from a mobile device.
When requesting a SharePoint site collection you have the option to choose one of two pre-built templates (Team or Communication) applied to your site.
- Team Site provides a site for creating, organizing, and sharing information and and files. Access is typically restricted to your team or working group.
- Communication Site is intended for sharing news, reports, statuses, and other information in a visually compelling format with a larger internal audience.
Please read the Terms of Use [12], the guide to using Office 365 content management and collaboration tools [13] and Best Practices [14] before requesting a site collection [10].
There is no cost for this service as it is provided by CCS.
Please note that CCS does not build individual SharePoint sites for departments/colleges. CCS provides the SharePoint platform to the University community and provides in-person training for digital content creators. We have also provided links to useful Microsoft resources to help you use SharePoint successfully.
