Genus Cholomyia Bigot, 1884

CHOLOMYIA Bigot, 1884: 42 (also 1884: xxxvii). Type species: Cholomyia inaequipes Bigot, 1884, by monotypy.


inaequipes Bigot, 1884.– Wisconsin and Ontario to Massachusetts, south to Arizona, Central America, and Florida (S&A, 1965).
– Cholomyia inaequipes Bigot, 1884: 42 (also 1884: xxxvii). Type data: lectotype male (BMNH), by fixation of Townsend, 1931a: 93 (mention of "male Ht" is regarded as a lectotype fixation; specimen bearing a BMNH lectotype label is accepted as lectotype). Type locality: Mexico.
– Thelairodes basalis Giglio-Tos, 1893a: 3. Type data: holotype female (MZUT). Type locality: Mexico.
– Metadexia flavipes Coquillett in Johnson, 1905: 78. Nomen nudum.
– Cholomyia nigriceps Williston, 1908: 353, fig. 146. Type data: holotype male (whereabouts unknown). Type locality: unknown.
