LYDINA Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830: 124. Type species: Lydina nitida Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 (= Tachina aenea Meigen, 1824), by subsequent designation of Robineau-Desvoidy, 1863a: 111 [Palearctic].
POLIDARIA Curran, 1934: 429, 444, 464. Type species: Tachina areos Walker, 1849, by monotypy.

americana (Townsend, 1892).– Widespread throughout America north of Mexico (O'Hara, 2002).
– Tryphera americana Townsend, 1892d: 78. Type data: holotype female (SEMK). Type locality: USA, southern Illinois.
– Tryphera polidoides Townsend, 1892d: 79. Type data: holotype female (originally in SEMK but apparently lost). Type locality: USA, New York.
– Polidea americana Townsend, 1892d: 82 (preoccupied by Tryphera americana Townsend, 1892d: 78). Type data: syntypes, 1 male and 2 females (1 male syntype in SEMK and 1 female syntype in USNM). Type locality: USA, Michigan, Constantine.

areos (Walker, 1849).– Alberta and Saskatchewan south to California and New Mexico, also Iowa and Massachusetts (O'Hara, 2002).
– Tachina areos Walker, 1849: 766. Type data: holotype, sex unknown (originally in BMNH but apparently lost). Type locality: North America.
