Genus Zizyphomyia Townsend, 1916

ZIZYPHOMYIA Townsend, 1916i: 317. Type species: Zizyphomyia celer Townsend, 1916 (= Sturmia limata Coquillett, 1902), by original designation.


chihuahuensis (Townsend, 1892).– Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Mexico, Texas (S&A, 1965).
– Brachycoma chihuahuensis Townsend, 1892d: 165. Type data: holotype male (SEMK). Type locality: Mexico, Chihuahua, "Mex. Cen. R.R." (= ?Mexican Central Railroad).
– Sturmia chrysoprocta Reinhard, 1924b: 273. Type data: holotype male (USNM). Type locality: USA, Kansas, Riley County.


crescentis (Reinhard, 1944).– Colorado and Kansas to Mexico and Texas, also New York, Ohio, North Carolina (S&A, 1965), Arizona (CNC).
– Sturmia crescentis Reinhard, 1944b: 69. Type data: holotype male (CNC). Type locality: USA, Texas, College Station.


limata (Coquillett, 1902).– Kansas, Ohio, Texas to Mississippi (S&A, 1965), Montana (CNC).
– Sturmia limata Coquillett, 1902b: 113. Type data: holotype male (USNM). Type locality: USA, Louisiana, Opelousas.
– Zizyphomyia celer Townsend, 1916i: 318. Type data: holotype male (USNM). Type locality: USA, Texas, Cuero (on flowers of Zizyphus obtusifolius).
