Other Duties Described: 
Specific duties of the Engineering Peer Helper Teaching Assistant may include: • Participating in training activities for Engineering Peer Helpers. • Attending and/or leading regularly scheduled peer helper planning and update meetings. • Regular email communications with Engineering Peer Helpers regarding action items, timelines and logistics. • Assisting Engineering Peer Helpers with booking/acquiring rooms and resources for workshops and other student support sessions. • Assisting Engineering Peer Helpers coordinate with SOE faculty in support of peer helper activities associated with specific courses. • Assisting Engineering Peer Helpers coordinate with other student support groups for awareness and collaboration on joint events. • Assisting Engineering Peer Helpers navigate uncertain situations as they arise. • Support Engineering Peer Helpers develop academically, professionally, and personally. • Other planning and program management activities, as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: 
The ideal candidate will have… • An Undergraduate Degree in Engineering • Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating activities that required: o Excellent time management, organizational and forward planning skills; o Excellent project management skills; o The ability to anticipate and resolve logistical issues; o The ability to organize and facilitate team activities, including running meetings; o The ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment; and, o A strong attention to detail. • Demonstrated experience in a student (or other personnel) support role, which required: o Strong communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skills; and, o Being an approachable, compassionate and encouraging mentor. • A strong desire to support and help others grow and develop, including: o Enthusiasm for learning and an interest in how people learn; o An awareness of own problem-solving skills and strategies; and, o Promotion of diversity and inclusivity. • Previous peer helper experience and/or familiarity with the SOE undergraduate curriculum are considered an asset.
