Required Qualifications:
The Graduate Educational Developer position is geared toward graduate students who are interested in teaching and learning in higher education, with a specific focus on graduate student educational development. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Teaching Assistant and an understanding
of teaching and learning in higher education, by having already successfully completed the “Foundations” program. Having taken the graduate half credit course UNIV*6800 University Teaching, Theory and Practice (UTTP) is also an asset. In addition, candidates should possess:
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills
- Strong time management and project management skills
- The ability to work well independently as well as on a team
- The ability to accommodate flexible working hours for different projects
- Be a registered graduate student at the Master’s or PhD level at the University of Guelph with at least a year of study remaining and able to commit to the Graduate Educational Developer position for at least 1 year
- Knowledge of, and respect for, disciplinary and cultural differences in teaching and learning
- Demonstrated interest in university teaching
- The ability to provide and give constructive feedback for improvement
- Educational leadership experience or experience supporting professional development of other TAs (preferred)

Registered in semester 2 or higher of a PhD program or Masters program. Experience teaching or leading workshops would be preferred but not required.
