Required Qualifications:
Applicants must:
a) be enrolled in a Chemistry graduate program with an emphasis in quantum chemistry,
b) have completed a B.SC. degree in chemistry,
c) have experience running density functional theory (DFT) calculations,
d) have experience teaching in chemistry laboratories,
e) be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for teaching and previous satisfactory teaching performance,
f) be able to demonstrate an ability to create and maintain a safe work place, and
g) Applicants must be able to provide documentation indicating they have completed the following training programs: Lab Safety Training (EHS), WHMIS Training (EHS), Worker Health & Safety Awareness (EHS), Accessible Service Provision (CourseLink) and Making Education Accessible (CourseLink).
Selection of successful candidates will be made in accordance with Article 11.04 of the CUPE 3913-1 collective agreement. Assignments to particular courses will be made in accordance with departmental needs and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
a) Experience with Quantum computing, DFT calculation and Gaussian software,
b) Previous experience as a student in CHEM*3860 or as a TA for CHEM*3860 considered an asset
