For this semester, the Graduate Student Educational Developer works to design and deliver instructional programming for Graduate Teaching Assistants at the University of Guelph, under the supervision of an Educational Developer. The University of Guelph has vaccination and masking policies that may be altered with limited notice depending on COVID-19 circumstances and advice from government, public health authorities, and prevailing science. Currently, the vaccination and masking policies are paused but may resume with little advance notice to address the health risks. Should this occur, vaccinations will be required. Other Duties Described: 
Under the supervision of an Educational Developer, Office of Teaching and Learning, the successful candidate will be responsible for: • Co-developing, co-coordinating, and facilitating or co-facilitating four workshops for Graduate Teaching Assistants on the topics of: (1) developing a teaching philosophy statement and teaching dossier; (2) equitable, inclusive, and accessible teaching; (3) developing high-quality hybrid/blended learning experiences; and (4) being an international TA. • Summarizing workshop feedback evaluation forms and providing summary reports to the Office of Teaching and Learning. • Outreach, promotion, and communication with graduate students interested in teaching and learning to notify them of workshops and other relevant programming available through OTL. This may include drafting marketing and promotional materials, responding to and sending e-mails, and attending team meetings. Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Training may be required if not previously completed. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: 
The Graduate Student Educational Developer position is geared toward graduate students who are interested in teaching and learning in higher education, with a specific focus on graduate student educational development. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Teaching Assistant and an understanding of teaching and learning in higher education. They will also possess: • Highly developed oral and written communication skills • Strong time management and project management skills • Ability to work well independently as well as on a team • Ability to accommodate flexible working hours for different projects • Registered Master’s or PhD student at the University of Guelph until at earliest April 2024 (i.e., is able to commit to the Graduate Student Educational Developer position for at least 1 semester) • Knowledge of and respect for disciplinary and cultural differences in teaching and learning • Demonstrated interest in university teaching • Ability to provide constructive feedback for improvement • Educational leadership experience or experience supporting professional development of other TAs (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications: 
Registered in semester 2 or higher of a PhD program or Masters program. Experience teaching or leading workshops would be preferred but not required. Completion of some programming offered through the Office of Teaching and Learning at the University of Guelph is ideal but not required.

Must be available for online consultation training -Hours are scheduled weekdays between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
