Required Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in a PhD program in biology (or similar discipline) at the University of Guelph, eligible for employment in Unit 1 of Local 3913. This course will cover effective writing, oral and graphic presentation; deciding what is true enough to be communicated; communicating difficult or controversial issues; some theories of behaviour change; and EDI issues in communication. There will also be quite a few guest speakers. The TA will be responsible for helping host speakers, tech set-up in the room, monitoring discussion boards, and also co-grading three assignments. By applying for this TA position, you are agreeing to be available from the start of the contract to complete all assigned duties, available to attend all mandatory meetings, invigilation of IB mid-term and final exams, and be available to the end of the contract to grade final exams/papers. By applying for this TA position, you are agreeing to be on campus and available from the start of the contract (January 4, 2024) to complete all assigned duties, available to attend all mandatory meetings, invigilation of IB exams as assigned, grade mid-term exams/papers, and be available to the end of the contract (April 30, 2024) to grade final exams/papers.
