The schedule for the Mathematics Learning Centre will be determined near the beginning of the semester. Candidates must be able to commit to working 5 hours (not necessarily consecutively) each week, during the Mathematics Learning Centre operating times of 9:30AM to 4:00PM. Operating hours of the Mathematics Learning Centre: Monday/Wednesday 9:30AM - 3:30PM, Tuesday/Thursday 10:00AM - 4:00PM, and Friday 9:30AM - 2:30PM EDT.

Duties for TA work assignments in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics include other ADMINISTRATIVE duties (dept. and final exam invigilation and course evaluations, and other departmental duties specified by the Chair). Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Training must be completed. If you have not already done so, complete the three (3) mandatory administrative courses and upload your certificates of completion to your Work Assignment profile.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Graduate student in Mathematics, Statistics or Mathematical Sciences. A thorough understanding of material in introductory level mathematics courses: MATH*1030, MATH*1080, MATH*1160, MATH*1200 and IPS*1500 (math topics). The ability to tutor students helping them understand the material without doing the work for them.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent communications skills. A familiarity with the material in MATH*2000, MATH*2130, MATH*2200, MATH*2210 and MATH*2270 is preferred.
