Other Duties Described: 
Writing Support - On Campus work only: -Conducting in-person and online writing consultations in the Library’s writing area with students in a variety of disciplines -Conducting in-person and online writing consultations in the Library's writing area with students who speak English as an additional language (EAL) -Planning and facilitating writing workshops and writing-related activities -Assisting in promoting Writing Services workshops, resources and EAL programming, as required (making online and/or in-class announcements, liaising with instructors & faculty) -Assisting in producing writing resources, as required -Participating in unit projects/tasks, as required -Assisting with administrative duties, as required -Attending training sessions and meetings, as required - Note: Hybrid and remote work are not available for these positions.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

The cover letter must describe how you meet the required qualifications. 2. Your resume or CV 3. A short sample (5-10 pages) of your unpublished academic writing. This sample should not be professionally edited and should not contain AI-generated material. 4. A list of your references who may be able to speak about your ability to work with students on their writing and/or language skills. Required qualifications: -Extensive experience facilitating online writing consultations -Extensive experience facilitating in-person writing consultations -Exemplary writing and communication skills -Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism -Experience evaluating students' writing (at least 3 GTA or sessional positions which involved providing comments on written assignments, or equivalent other experience) -Experience working one-on-one with students on their writing (at least 2 GTA or sessional positions which involved conferencing with students about their writing, or equivalent other experience) -Experience presenting in front of groups (at least 1 GTA or sessional position which involved teaching seminars or lectures, or equivalent other experience)
Preferred Qualifications: 
-Registration in semester 2 or higher of a PhD program at the University of Guelph -Experience teaching writing in a writing centre environment -Experience working or studying in more than one academic discipline -Extensive training and/or experience in supporting students with English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Days Required and Wages
Days and Times Required: 
-Must be available for training -Hours are scheduled weekdays between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with the possibility of some evening work -Hours are scheduled in 3-hour shifts -To allow for flexibility in scheduling, applicants must have availability on at least 3 different days of the week and must be able to work 4-hour shifts

Wage Rate (per hour, per semester, per Full-load 1.0 Work Assignment): 
GSA-1 $49.43/hr; $6,924.98/semester effective 2025/26
