Qualifications
Required Qualifications: 
• Must be enrolled as a student in Fall 2026 and able to complete in-person responsibilities as needed; • Must have excellent writing skills and be able to effectively critique student assignments in writing; • The ability to communicate computer science concepts to students effectively, both in written form and verbally; • Solid programming skills in one of the programming languages such as Python, R, or C.
Preferred Qualifications: 
• Previous experience as a teaching assistant for this or a similar course; • Solid understanding of Bioinformatics concepts; • Familiarity with CourseLink or other similar teaching platforms; • Experience with cloud servers (e.g. Digital Research Alliance of Canada); • Currently working, or having previously worked, on a research project involving the processing and analysis of high-throughput sequencing (HTS) or next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.

Days and Times Required: 
Unless otherwise specified, all lectures will be face-to-face. Must be available to complete TA duties as required until the end of the work period. See WebAdvisor for lecture times.

Wage Rate (per hour, per semester, per Full-load 1.0 Work Assignment): 
GTA $49.43/hr; $6,924.98/semester effective 2025/26
