Required Qualifications:
A Master of Bioinformatics or MSc degree with a focus on genetics or evolution, or similar qualification (e.g. PhD transfer student who has completed the Masters level bioinformatics coursework, PhD student who has previously used genomic data in MSc project). Prior experience with all or the majority of: Unix, high-performance computing, high-throughput genomic data, population genetics/genomics, and R. Must have good technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot analyses and error messages. Strong oral communication skills, as the TA will assist students during in-class tutorials and through office hours outside of class. Must possess excellent time management skills and attention to detail and be conscientious about grading and student feedback. By applying for this TA position, you are agreeing to be available from the start of the contract (January 2, 2026) to complete all assigned duties, available to attend all mandatory meetings, invigilation of exams as assigned, grade mid-term exams/papers, and be available to the end of the contract (April 28, 2026) to grade final exams/papers.
