Required Qualifications:
Graduate students at the University of Guelph, eligible for employment in Unit 1 of Local 3913. Candidates must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal in English). Able to follow marking guidelines and provide accurate and consistent marking to deadlines with written feedback. Comfortable using various electronic platforms to interact with students on their own and simultaneously with the instructor. By applying for this TA position, you are agreeing to be available from the start of the contract (Sept. 8, 2020) to complete all assigned duties, available to attend all mandatory meetings (Fridays at 10:30 am), invigilation of IB mid-term and final exams, and be available to the end of the contract (Dec. 24, 2020) to grade final exams/papers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Able to convey enthusiasm for biology to students from wide ranging programs. Prefer those with proven experience in field settings, and good identification skills. Ability to mentor senior undergraduate volunteers.
