Other Course Description or Assignment Information: 
Candidates will be required to work remotely, primarily through the University’s CourseLink system, during regular University Instructional hours (8:30 am to 10:00 pm.) as required. Duties may include, but are not limited to, Grading, Disciplinary Facilitation, Educational Technology, Monitoring Lectures, and/or Course and Content Development. IMPORTANT NOTE: U of G will progress its return to more conventional course delivery and offer in-person instruction for most courses in Winter 2022 in line with the Provost’s letter of Oct 18, 2021(https://news.uoguelph.ca/2021/10/update-on-plans-for-winter-2022-semester/). Compliance with the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy (https://www.uoguelph.ca/hr/staff-faculty-hr-policies-support-staff/713-covid-19-vaccination-policy) will continue to be required.

Other Duties Described: 
Managing electronic files and teaching materials. As assigned. *Due to the PANDEMIC, GTA duties will potentially change as the semester progresses depending upon the needs of the Chemistry Department.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: 
Applicants must: Be enrolled in a graduate program in an area of synthetic chemistry (Organic, Inorganic, Main Group). Minimum one year of research experience conducting synthetic experiments at the graduate level. Excellent Spectroscopy skills (NMR, ATR_FTIR, GC, GC-MS, UV-VIS, Polarimetry). Excellent laboratory, hazardous waste management and housekeeping skills. Solid knowledge of the chemical literature. Experience with pyrophoric reagents, toxic gases, toxic/corrosive gases , Schlenk lines, inert atmosphere techniques. Have completed a B.Sc. degree in chemistry. Have experience demonstrating first year chemistry laboratories. (Chem 1040 and/or Chem 1050 or equivalent at another University) Have completed the required safety courses. Lab Safety Training (EHS), WHMIS Training (EHS), Worker Health & Safety Awareness (EHS). Must complete additional safety training as prescribed. Selection of successful candidates will be made in accordance with Article 11.06 of the CUPE 3913-1 collective agreement. Assignments to particular courses will be made in accordance with departmental needs and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications: 
Ph.D. Candidate in Synthetic Chemistry.
