When applying for this work assignment, please be aware that the course is being delivered in-class. Courses offered in-class maybe required to pivot to alternate delivery format in the case that requirements placed on the University and its employees by public health bodies, local, provincial and federal governments necessitate such a mid-semester transition. Should this occur, TAs will be required to continue to support the course in its alternate format. IMPORTANT NOTE: U of G will progress its return to more conventional course delivery and offer in-person instruction for most courses in Winter 2022 in line with the Provost’s letter of Oct 18, 2021(https://news.uoguelph.ca/2021/10/update-on-plans-for-winter-2022-semester/). As assigned. *Due to the PANDEMIC, GTA duties will potentially change as the semester progresses depending upon the needs of the Chemistry Department.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: 
Applicants must: a) be enrolled in a chemistry graduate program in an area of inorganic chemistry. b) have minimum one year of research experience c) have knowledge in all aspects of solid state chemistry, especially crystallography, heterogeneous equilibria, and physical and chemical properties of materials in the solid state. d) have solid knowledge of the chemical literature. e) have completed a B.Sc. degree in chemistry. f) have experience demonstrating first year chemistry laboratories. (Chem 1040 and/or Chem 1050 or equivalent at another University) g) have completed the required safety courses. h) have completed additional safety training as prescribed. Applicants must be able to provide documentation indicating they have completed the following training programs: Lab Safety Training (EHS), WHMIS Training (EHS), Worker Health & Safety Awareness (EHS), Accessible Service Provision (CourseLink) and Making Education Accessible (CourseLink). Selection of successful candidates will be made in accordance with Article 11.04 of the CUPE 3913-1 collective agreement. Assignments to particular courses will be made in accordance with departmental needs and procedures.
