Other Course Description or Assignment Information: 
Direct observation as a strategy for collecting information on children's behaviour in applied and research settings is the focus of this laboratory course. THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE WORK ASSIGNMENT ARE NOTED BELOW, HOWEVER IN ADDITION, BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING DETAILS/TASKS: (1) This course has weekly seminars (labs) led by GTAs for about half of the semester - please check WebAdvisor to ensure that days and times of this course's seminars and your own class schedule do no conflict. (2) Grading of 2 lab reports requiring written feedback. (3) Grading of a final, major assignment submitted in week 12 (in lieu of a final examination). “Should conditions change and requirements are placed on the University and its employees by public health bodies, local, provincial, and federal governments, courses posted as ‘In-Class’ may have to switch to an alternative delivery format (see https://opened.uoguelph.ca/academic-continuity). Other Duties Described: 
Accurate and consistent grading of written work to be completed within 2 weeks, with constructive feedback as needed. Prompt and professional communication with instructor and students. Respond to student queries as required. Lead and moderate discussions on course content. Completion of Making Education Accessible, Accessible Service Provision and Environmental Health & Safety on-line courses (if not previously completed). Invigilation of final examination in this course and one additional course. Availability throughout the entirety of the work assignment, including the undergraduate final exam period.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: 
APPLICANTS MUST INCLUDE A COVER LETTER WHICH PROVIDES A DETAILED EXPLANATION OF HOW THEY MEET EACH REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATION IN ADDITION TO THEIR RESUME. 1) Must be currently enrolled in a masters or doctoral degree program in Family Relations and Human Development or a closely related field. 2) Interpersonal and/or communication skills. 3) Substantive knowledge of course content demonstrated by undergraduate or graduate coursework, research area, or other professional development.
Preferred Qualifications: 
1) Practical or applied experience related to course content. 2) Experience grading (including online grading). 3) Providing timely and accurate evaluation of student assignments aligning with marking rubric/scheme. 4) Assessing and providing constructive feedback on oral and/or written work.

Days and Times Required: 
(1) Attendance at the seminars you are assigned to facilitate - please check WebAdvisor for the days and times of all the seminars associated with this course to ensure there are no conflicts with your own schedule. (2) Availability throughout the duration of the work assignment as noted below under Period of the Work Assignment. This includes being available for the entirety of the undergraduate final exam period.
