This course offers students an opportunity to extend their knowledge and professional skills in a second/third supervised placement in a health or social service agency. The practicum and class further facilitate the integration and application of theoretical knowledge from previous coursework. THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE WORK ASSIGNMENT ARE NOTED BELOW, HOWEVER, IN ADDITION BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING DETAILS/TASKS: (1) Attendance at Friday class time may be required so please ensure through WebAdvisor there is no conflict with your own class schedule.(2) There may be opportunities to contribute to teaching Friday classes at the discretion of the instructor. IMPORTANT NOTE: U of G will progress its return to more conventional course delivery and offer in-person instruction for most courses in Winter 2022 in line with the Provost’s letter of Oct 18, 2021(https://news.uoguelph.ca/2021/10/update-on-plans-for-winter-2022-semester/). Compliance with the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy (https://www.uoguelph.ca/hr/staff-faculty-hr-policies-support-staff/713-covid-19-vaccination-policy) will continue to be required.

Other Duties Described: 
Accurate and consistent grading of written work to be completed within 2 weeks, with constructive feedback as needed. Prompt and professional communication with instructor and students. Respond to student queries as required. Monitor online discussion board according to schedule determined by course instructor. Lead and moderate discussions on course content. Completion of Making Education Accessible, Accessible Service Provision and Environmental Health & Safety on-line courses (if not previously completed). Invigilation of final examination in this course and one additional course. Availability throughout the entirety of the work assignment, including the undergraduate final exam period.
Required Qualifications: 
APPLICANTS MUST INCLUDE A COVER LETTER WHICH PROVIDES A DETAILED EXPLANATION OF HOW THEY MEET EACH REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATION IN ADDITION TO THEIR RESUME. 1) Must be currently enrolled in a masters or doctoral degree program in Family Relations and Human Development or a closely related field. 2) Interpersonal and/or communication skills. 3) Substantive knowledge of course content demonstrated by undergraduate or graduate coursework, research area, or other professional development.
Preferred Qualifications: 
1) Practical or applied experience related to course content. 2) Strong time management and organizational skills. 3) Experience grading (including online grading). 4) Providing timely and accurate evaluation of student assignments aligning with marking rubric/scheme. 5) Assessing and providing constructive feedback on oral and/or written work. 6) Online experience (e.g., facilitation of discussions online, CourseLink moderation). 7) Registered, or have completed the requirements for registration in, the College of Early Childhood Educators.

Days and Times Required: 
(1) Attendance at Friday class - check WebAdvisor for Friday class time and ensure there is no conflict with your own class schedule. (2) Availability throughout the duration of the work assignment as noted below under Period of the Work Assignment. This includes being available for the entirety of the undergraduate final exam period.
