Required Qualifications:
Graduate students at the University of Guelph, eligible for employment in Unit 1 of Local 3913. Candidates must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal in English). Able to follow marking guidelines and provide accurate and consistent marking to deadlines with written feedback. By applying for this TA position, you are agreeing to be available on campus from the entirety of the contract (September 6, 2022 – December 23, 2022) to complete all assigned duties, including, but not limited to, attending all mandatory meetings (Fridays at 10:30 am ET, using Zoom), leading in-person seminars and synchronous, virtual seminars using Zoom; a high marking load through the semester; invigilation of IB exams, and, grading final exams/papers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Able to convey enthusiasm for biology to students from wide ranging programs. Prefer those with proven experience in field settings, and good identification skills. Ability to mentor senior undergraduate volunteers.
