Required Qualifications:
Applicants must:
a) be enrolled in a Chemistry graduate program or closely related field,
b) have completed a BSc degree in chemistry or a closely related field,
c) have previous experience teaching in chemistry undergrad courses (CHEM*1040, CHEM*1050, CHEM*2070, CHEM*3440 or equivalent at another university),
d) be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for teaching and satisfactory teaching performance,
e) be able to demonstrate an ability to create and maintain a safe work place,
f) must have competent (in-person) oral presentation skills,
g) Applicants must be able to provide documentation indicating they have completed the following training programs: Lab Safety Training (EHS), WHMIS Training (EHS), Worker Health & Safety Awareness (EHS), Accessible Service Provision (CourseLink) and Making Education Accessible (CourseLink).
Selection of successful candidates will be made in accordance with Article 11.06 of the CUPE 3913-1 collective agreement. Assignments to particular courses will be made in accordance with departmental needs and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
a) Previous taken CHEM*2070 as an undergraduate student or previous experience as TA for CHEM*2070 would be considered an asset,
b) Research area should be in the area of spectroscopy or crystallography
