IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING WORK ASSIGNMENTS AND COURSE DELIVERY IN OUR WINTER RETURN-TO-CAMPUS PLANNING. The University will be offering a significant portion of its courses face-to-face “In-Class”. Remote and alternative delivery modes will also occur. Should conditions change and requirements are placed on the University and its employees by public health bodies, local, provincial, and federal governments, courses posted as ‘In-Class’ may have to switch to an alternative delivery format (see https://opened.uoguelph.ca/academic-continuity). By accepting this contract, you are agreeing to fulfill the duties in the mode of delivery posted and switch as required. Other Duties Described: 
In-person seminars Wednesdays 5:30pm-6:50pm. May include CourseLink monitoring and Discussion moderation. Other duties as assigned, based on the operational requirements of the course components and course grading, etc. *Due to the PANDEMIC, TA duties will potentially change as the semester progresses depending upon the needs of the Chemistry Department.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: 
Applicants must: a) be enrolled in a Chemistry graduate program or closely related field, b) have completed a BSc degree in chemistry or a closely related field, c) have previous experience teaching in chemistry undergrad courses (CHEM*1040, CHEM*1050, CHEM*2070, CHEM*3440 or equivalent at another university), d) be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for teaching and satisfactory teaching performance, e) be able to demonstrate an ability to create and maintain a safe work place, f) must have competent (in-person) oral presentation skills, g) Applicants must be able to provide documentation indicating they have completed the following training programs: Lab Safety Training (EHS), WHMIS Training (EHS), Worker Health & Safety Awareness (EHS), Accessible Service Provision (CourseLink) and Making Education Accessible (CourseLink). Selection of successful candidates will be made in accordance with Article 11.06 of the CUPE 3913-1 collective agreement. Assignments to particular courses will be made in accordance with departmental needs and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications: 
a) Previous taken CHEM*2070 as an undergraduate student or previous experience as TA for CHEM*2070 would be considered an asset, b) Research area should be in the area of spectroscopy or crystallography
